The classes we built for young people leaving foster care.
Angels Nest built these for the young people we serve. Read what each one covers, then ask us for access. We set up your account, you watch on your phone, and you finish with a certificate that has your name on it.
NEST
What you get when you finish. A PDF you can print or attach to an application.
Pick a class
Open any class to see the lessons, the length, and what you finish with. Classes are not open to the public, so when you know what you want, send us a request from the form below.
New Resident Orientation
Start here. The Pivot Program, house rules, and who to call for help.
My Safety Plan
Write down your warning signs, what helps you calm down, and who to call when things get hard. Save it as a PDF, keep it on your phone, and email it to Angels Nest.
No sign-in needed
Education and Training Vouchers (ETV)
Up to $5,000 a school year for college or trade school if you were in Texas foster care. Who qualifies, what it pays for, the deadlines, and the forms you need.
Taking requests
Career Readiness for Foster Youth
Get hired. Filling out applications, writing a resume, sending a professional email, showing up right, and what a boss actually expects of you.
Taking requests
Telemarketing & Inside Sales Certification
Phone sales is a real first job. It pays, it trains fast, and you can do it from home. The last lesson covers the calling laws you have to follow.
Taking requests
Fire Safety
Smoke alarms, carbon monoxide, kitchen and candle fires, and how to get yourself out. It is short. Take it before you need it.
Taking requests
Anger Management for Young Adults
What sets you off, the warning signs before you hit a 10, and an anger control plan you write yourself. Eight short videos.

Money Smart for Young Adults
Banking, budgeting, credit, renting an apartment, and paying for school. Twelve lessons, the longest class we offer.
Adapted from FDIC Money Smart for Young Adults. Not endorsed by the FDIC.

Keep Your Cool: Conflict Skills for Life and Work
How to stay in the room when it gets hot. Reading a situation, saying what you need, cooling things down, and knowing when to bring in help.
Meets in person
Cooking Matters
Cook real meals on a real budget. Small groups, hands on, with food to take home. This one meets in person with a facilitator.
Cooking Matters is a program of Share Our Strength. Angels Nest runs it using their official materials.
Casey Life Skills
An app, not a class. Answer 126 questions about nine areas of your life, then take it again later and see what moved.
Casey Life Skills was developed by Casey Family Programs. Angels Nest runs it under their non commercial license.
Emergency Disaster Plan Training
Disaster training for residents and staff. What to do in an emergency, like a power outage or an evacuation, and who to call first.
How it works
Send a request
Tell us which classes you want and how to reach you. One short form at the bottom of this page.
We set up your account
A staff member reviews the request and builds your login. You get an email with your link and a password to set. Usually within two business days.
Watch, pass, get certified
Work through the lessons and pass each quiz at 80 percent. Your certificate arrives by email, signed by our executive director.
Questions people ask
Does it cost anything?
No. The classes are free and we never ask for a card.
Why do I have to request access?
The classes are not open to the public. We built them for the young people in our programs and for the partners we work with, so a staff member sets up each account by hand.
Who gets approved?
Young people in and aging out of foster care, the staff and partners who work with them, and anyone Angels Nest is already serving. If you are not sure whether that is you, send the request anyway and we will talk.
What is the certificate good for?
It is a PDF with your name on it, signed by our executive director. Put it on a resume, attach it to a job application, or hand it to an employer.
Can I do this on my phone?
Yes. Once you are in, the videos, the quizzes, and the certificate all work on a phone. There is no deadline either. Start, stop, and come back when you can.
Who do I talk to if I get stuck?
Call 240-460-6318 and ask for the Pivot Program. A person will answer.
Request access
Tell us which classes you want and a little about yourself. A staff member reads every request and answers within two business days.
Already have a login? Sign in here instead of filling this out again.
Request sent.
Check your email. If you have taken a class with us before, there is already a link waiting to get you back in. If you are new, a staff member reads every request and emails your login, usually within two business days.
Not sure where to start?
Call us and say you saw the classes page. We will tell you which one fits what you are working on right now.
